The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham is delighted to endorse and contribute to backpack initiatives.

What is the Backpack Program?
The Backpack Program is an invaluable weekend food assistance initiative designed to support underprivileged school children. These backpacks are filled with a thoughtful combination of ready-to-eat meals for the children and essential groceries for their families to prepare meals at home. The backpacks are either taken home by the children from school or delivered directly to their residences. Our dedicated Community Engagement teams actively participate in activities such as food sorting for the backpacks and making home deliveries.
