What to Expect

The celebration begins at 12:00 PM at Harrisonburg City Hall with holiday music, games, snacks, activities, and opportunities to win prizes. This is a great time to check in, pick up your event swag, take photos, visit activity tables, and enjoy the festive atmosphere before the downtown march begins.

Adult registration includes a Santa suit that can be worn over your clothes and kept after the event. Children ages 3 to 12 will receive a special holiday hat with elf ears. Each participant will also receive a drawstring Arc bag for collecting goodies and swag throughout the event.

Before the march begins, prizes will be awarded for:

• Most Festive Adult Costume
• Most Festive Child Costume
• Most Funds Raised by an Individual
• Most Funds Raised by a Group

At 1:00 PM, we will begin our Santa Walk ’N Roll through downtown Harrisonburg. Christmas music will play as we move through downtown together, and participants are encouraged to sing along, wave, smile, and help fill the streets with holiday spirit.

Celebrate With Winter Wonderfest

Santa Walk ’N Roll begins at the same time as Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance’s Winter Wonderfest, a full-day holiday celebration in downtown Harrisonburg. After the march, participants are encouraged to enjoy the rest of Winter Wonderfest, visit downtown businesses, and make a full day of holiday fun.

Activities and tables at Harrisonburg City Hall will remain available until 2:30 PM.

Move Your Way

Santa Walk ’N Roll is designed to be welcoming for people of all ages and abilities. Participants may walk, roll, use mobility supports, or bring safe, nonmotorized wheels.

Welcomed options include:

• Wheelchairs
• Walkers
• Strollers
• Roller skates
• Skateboards
• Scooters
• Other safe, nonmotorized wheels

Please move at a safe pace, stay mindful of others, and use helmets or safety gear when appropriate.

Register as an Individual or Team

Participants can register as individuals, create a fundraising team, or join an existing team. Teams are a great option for families, coworkers, friend groups, clubs, churches, schools, and local organizations.

You do not have to fundraise to participate, but fundraising helps support The Arc’s work in Harrisonburg and Rockingham. Funds raised through Santa Walk ’N Roll support services and opportunities that help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live, work, connect, and participate fully in the community.
