The Arc of HR Hosts Candidate Forum
PREPARING TO VOTE NOVEMBER 2
Next Tuesday, November 2nd, citizens around Virginia will line up to cast their ballots for state level government officials. Although most of our efforts here at The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham (HR) revolve around providing in-person services to create more inclusive opportunities for the intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) community, we recognize the incredible power our local and state officials have when it comes to impacting those with I/DD. So, with the support of The Arc of Virginia, The Arc of HR helped facilitate an important conversation with running House of Delegate representatives from districts 20, 24, 25, 26, and 58 around their vision and commitments to supporting the I/DD community if elected.
You can watch the virtual candidate forum here before voting November 2nd to make sure your vote helps elect officials most invested in maintaining and creating policies that positively impact those with disabilities.
Don’t have time to watch the whole forum? Check out The Harrisonburg Citizen’s article here or in the Daily News Record’s article here. Thanks to all the candidates who participated and those who attended. Make sure to vote Tuesday to help create A Life Like Yours (ALLY)!
