2026 MLK Food Drive, Distribution and Ceremony
Annual MLK Day of Service Food Drive, Distribution, & Ceremony
Each January, The Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through a month-long MLK Day of Service focused on community care, food security, and service to one another.
Throughout the month of January, we collect food donations for our Annual MLK Day of Service Food Drive. On MLK Day, donated food is distributed to individuals and families in need through a drive-through food distribution and (new for this year!) home deliveries made by volunteers throughout the week.
We also invite the community to join us for a special MLK Ceremony at the Historic Lucy F. Simms Center on the day following MLK Day. This event celebrates Dr. Kingβs legacy, the spirit of service, and the neighborhood organizations working together to address food insecurity in our community.
